The mission of Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. This mission is accomplished, through “hands on” learning experiences, focused on agricultural and environmental issues, agriculture awareness, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, health, energy conservation, and citizenship.
Exploring and discovering, encouraging and challenging, that’s what Georgia 4-H is all about. As a program of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Cooperative Extension System, 4-H is part of the nationwide Extension network.
4-H’ers are known for sharing their research-based knowledge and technology to people where they live and work. 4-H combines federal, state, and local expertise and resources.
It is the policy of University of Georgia Extension to extend equal opportunities for membership and participation in 4-H activities to any youth residing in or attending school in the state of Georgia. As a partner in education, Georgia 4-H bases its eligibility on the Georgia Department of Education’s standards.
Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month. Fundraisers include the annual 4-H Fruit Sale

Ms. Cox retired in Dec. 2022, at this time 4-H club meetings are on hold until her replacement has been hired.
MCHS FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
The mission of FBLA is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. The specific goals of FBLA are to: Develop competent, aggressive business leadership. Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work.

MCHS Student Council (NatStuCo)
NSC membership is centered on a commitment to:
Leadership-Empowering and equipping students to develop and hone their leadership skills and challenging them to be positive change makers in their school and community
Service-Establishing and sustaining a culture of service through active volunteerism and serving
Student Voice-Promoting student government as the voice of the student body, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to be heard.
Engagement-Encouraging and coaching students to be active participants in school and community leadership and decision-making

Technology Student Association
The Technology Student Association (TSA) enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in STEM, whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intracurricular activities, competitions, and related programs.
TSA is a national, non-profit organization of high school and middle school student members who are engaged in STEM. Since TSA was chartered in 1978, over 5,000,000 members have participated through competitions, intracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, and community service.
Any Student 9 - 12 high school is eligible to participate in the TSA club. The TSA club meets monthly,

Drama Club
Drama Club is designed for students interested in learning more about the aspects of theater. This includes learning stage terminology, working on acting skills, set building, and costumes/makeup design. Drama Club is open to all students. These students will be considered first for participation in school programs and other activities. Actors, singers, dancers and speakers are wanted. There is a $20 fee to participate in this club. This fee covers all production costs and a t-shirt.

All students are eligible to join the Drama Club. The club will meet in accordance with the school-wide club day calendar. Monetary donations are accepted as well as old clothes, household items and other items to be used as props.
Mitchell County FFA
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Any students 9th-12th grade (mandatory for students enrolled in any agriculture pathway) are eligible to participate in the FFA.
The FFA meets on the first Thursday of the month at 3:45pm.
Ways to support the FFA include monetary donations, serve on the advisory committee, and job placements for students.
