Reminder: On Wednesday, October 3, beginning at 2:18 p.m. Eastern Time, FEMA and the FCC will conduct a nationwide test of the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). The Wireless Emergency Alert portion of the test starts at 2:18 p.m. and the Emergency Alert System follows at 2:20 p.m. The test messages will start with “THIS IS A TEST” and end with “No action is needed. Mitchell County High School made history Thursday, February 15, by inducting the charter members of Mitchell County’s first ever Leo Club, a student organization sponsored by the Lions Club International. The Leo Club began this school year with a group of dedicated, service minded students who strive to make a difference in our community. The support given by the Lions Club and the entire community is appreciated, and the club looks forward to many years of service. The Leo Club is off to a good start. Leo stands for Leadership, Experience and Opportunities. As members of Mitchell County High School Leo club, students are learning what it means to be a Leo. With a focus on community involvement at its center, students will be working this year to build relations with members inside of our community through volunteering and community outreach......

GA Milestones Testing is coming soon for students. The results of students’ performances can affect their promotion or retention. The 8th grade will take test starting the last week of April and the first week in May. Grades 9-12 will test May 7-11.

Go to bed 30 minutes earlier than you normally do so that you will be rested for the test. Eat breakfast before coming to school and if you do not have time, get breakfast at school........
